No! FuelSync is built strictly as an offline-first application. All your vehicle profiles, refueling logs, trip GPS records, and service reminders are saved locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. You can log refuels and record trips anywhere, even without cellular service.
Tour Intercom uses direct hardware peer-to-peer wireless transport (Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth Low Energy mesh). When you and fellow riders join an Intercom convoy, your devices communicate directly device-to-device with sub-50ms latency without routing voice through any external internet servers.
Go to Settings → Data Management & Backup in the app. You can export a full JSON backup of all vehicles, logs, and reminders. You can save this file to your phone, iCloud, Google Drive, or email it to yourself. When setting up a new phone, simply choose Restore Backup to restore everything in seconds.
Notification permissions allow FuelSync to deliver maintenance reminders directly to your notification shade (e.g. oil change due, tax token expiry, or tire rotation). All alarms are generated locally on your device by the operating system. We do not use remote push servers and never track your device.
When adding a refueling log, tap the Scan Receipt icon. Align the fuel receipt within the camera frame. The app processes the image 100% on your device using Google ML Kit to parse total cost, volume, and unit price without sending images to any third-party server.
Because FuelSync does not store any user accounts or remote database records, uninstalling the app or selecting Clear All Data from Settings permanently wipes all records from your device. You have 100% ownership and control over your data.
